When Laura and I were in Florence, I wanted us to have the best Florentine steak we could find. I did some Googling and decided we’d try Trattoria Sostanza. In my Googling, I read a review that mentioned that their chicken was incredible, as well. The restaurant does two seatings per night, at 7 pm and 9 pm. We made reservations for 7 and found the place, which is rather small and plain. The seating is communal, so we sat with a family of five.
Laura and I ordered the Florentine steak and their petti di pollo al burro to share between us, along with some pasta as our first course.
The Florentine steak was enormous and very good, but the chicken… oh, the chicken. So delicious. So incredibly delicious. So buttery and tasty and amazing. We loved it so much, we made reservations for supper the following night as well. And we didn’t bother with the steak again. Chicken all the way.
Rob Lowe knows what’s up. LITERALLY the best chicken.
We’ve wanted to recreate it at home for the longest time and we recently made the above attempt!
